Braintree's under 12's travelled to Coggeshall knowing they would have there work cut out for them against a strong side and missing some of their key players.
Skipper Lucas Hale won the toss and asked Coggeshall to bat and it was he who made the breakthrough in the 2nd over as he bowled Barrow for 4. George Butler and Oscar Rees then put on 42 for the second wicket before Zach Peacock, who continues to impress this season, clean bowled Oscar Rees for 16. A few chances came and went for the Dolphins but the bowling always looked threatening without any luck for the boys. George Martin in particular bowled his leg spin with control and Harry Macklin, stepping up from the under 11's conceded just 14 runs from 3 overs. Hale and Danny Orr came back into the attack for the final 4 overs and both bowled in good areas to make it hard for the Coggeshall batsmen to get them away. Orr took the wicket of Oliver Eastell for 4 and Hale removed Bond (18) and Irwin (0) in his final over. All of Braintree's wickets were bowled which shows how accurate they were on the day.

Braintree needed a good start to challenge the total with a number of key batsmen missing and it was Danny Orr who partnered Lucas Hale in the absence of Will Sherry. He would top score with a well made 9 following the early loss of Hale for 0 and shared in a partnership of 28 with Zach Peacock.

Braintree finished with 54-5 but some valuable time at the wicket for some of the batsmen was had.
