Braintree's fledgling ladies team, The Dolphinettes, made their competitive debut this week as they travelled to Dunmow to play a friendly on a warm Tuesday evening.

With no player in the side that had picked up a cricket bat or ball before the start of this season, the ladies were exceptional with both as they found their feet having just played one friendly against one of Braintree's highly successful youth sides the week before.

Although the result didn't go in the girls favour there was plenty of room for optimism with some excellent performances that will give them huge confidence going into their next game, and indeed, their second season next year.

Coach Calley Foyster was very proud of her charges and also grateful to the huge travelling support that turned out to cheer the girls on.
